Not satisfied with the collars. For several years we had a PetSafe fence/collar that needed replacing. The first product was solid, easy to clean and didn't fall apart. The first collar also had a significantly louder sound for dogs. After only 8 months of use, one of the contact points on our boy's receiver collar came loose and fell onto the carpet. We put it back in place and tightened it up. Two days later he goes in and only the collar remains. Both contacts have failed and the receiver is somewhere in the yard. It's a comfortable 6 degrees and chasing 3 acres is no fun at all. We'll keep looking and hopefully find a receiver, or we'll have to buy another one for $120. This is smart on PetSafe's part, as the alternative is to buy a different brand of fence, which will cost $300 or more. I am definitely considering ideas of attaching the receiver to the collar as this is not what the manufacturer intended. Or maybe they were, and that's why they sell more collars. SMHUPDATE 05/02/18 Still NOT SATISFIED with the collar. Used less than a year, lost contact. The part that screws into the female part is separated from the part that is in contact with the driver. So I can't even replace it with a new pin, part of it is still in the receiver.
