Review on Motorcraft CX1775 Idle Control Motor by Vashod Reed

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits perfectly and solved my problem!

If these problems occur on your Ford Focus 2.0L 4 Cylinder DOHC Zetec1. Hard start (requires more than 1 or 2 start attempts of 5-10 seconds or more) and eventually manages to start the car, eventually with the accelerator pedal depressed. Poor idling after engine warm-up and stalling at brake lights3. Poor idle, usually whenever the A/C compressor kicks in4. Regaining strength for no apparent reason and difficult to adjust idle 5. Difficult starting of the engine when warming up6. In the worst case, poor acceleration and engine misfires. These above symptoms require replacement of this part (may be one of the reasons). Other causes of similar symptoms may be due to several other parts/sections in the vehicle, one or both are faulty and you're out of luck.1. Bad fuel pump or low fuel pressure2. Clogged fuel filter or faulty fuel pump that just happens to not turn properly3. The fuel injection pressure sensor (FPS4) diaphragm ruptured, flooding the engine with gasoline. In my case I wasn't so lucky. I had to replace the fuel filter which improved the idle a bit. However, upon closer inspection, it was discovered that the fuel injection pressure sensor (FPS4) diaphragm ruptured when adding fuel to the intake manifold, resulting in a dumb idle algorithm and the output of fuel codes that were too rich. In any case, the part in question was swapped out as a diagnostic replacement and happy to say the part fits perfectly. Although I should warn you against replacing this part which is in an obscure spot behind the intake manifold where you can only access it from under the car. Only the plug is visible from above. PS: Replacing this part is not for beginners. I don't see myself as a beginner, but I'm not an expert either. Bottom line, replacing this part took me a couple of hours as the place it sits is very tight and my hands can barely fit in there. There are also two 8mm bolts which must first be carefully removed and finger tightened (this FORD Focus's intake manifold is all plastic) before using a torque wrench and securely installing the two bolts. If you end up replacing the fuel injection pressure sensor (FPS4) (most likely culprit), make sure you bleed off any excess gas that may have been building up when the problem started in the intake manifold (you may need to remove the throttle body of the throttle controller). Ford Focus Out intake manifold) to drain excess fuel that collects in this area. If you don't dump excess gas, you may be looking for a fault that isn't there after replacing all the parts, and the engine will keep throwing codes indicating it's rich and you'll be leaner by replacing other parts how to replace the oxygen sensor, MAF. Sensor one after the other that are not needed. Product rating five stars
