As a preface, I would like to say that I am a self-taught amateur welder. I always felt like my welds were suffering because I couldn't see what I was doing. The large field of view helps a lot with this, along with the clip in the magnifying glass of the Antra welding helmet. As a bonus, it comes with a stack or interchangeable outer protective lenses. A few more points: Sometimes I got arc flash because my old helmet only had two sensors and they could get blocked. This helmet has 4 sensors located at the top and bottom. The controls are much easier to set up. It has a grinding position so you can use the helmet while cutting or grinding. I've evaluated other equipment and it looks like a similar hood would cost over $200 at one of my local welding supply centers. Even a similar hood from Harbor Freight, where I often buy, costs over $150. In short, this is a great purchase.
