The mixing concept of the bottles you drink from is great, but the blade part gets noisy and after 6-8 months wears out so much that it no longer rotates or rotates inconsistently. and begins to smoke and affect the taste of food. Note to self: if you start hearing the speed change mid-mix, stop using it and order a replacement blade for $20! Increasing volume over time is like putting a frog in a saucepan β too subtle over time to really notice until it's past its prime. Concerned about total cost of ownership compared to other blenders with longer lasting blades. Blades at $20 for 5 years = $150 + $80 each = $230. I just bought the replacement blade and used it for the first time and it's a lot quieter! I mean I can't even believe it sounded so quiet when the original blade was new. Either they've made improvements or I'm really used to the noise increasing over time as it wears out (the latter I think). If you've been using the same knife for more than 6 months, do yourself a favor and get a spare knife now and try it out to see if you suffer from excessive noise pollution. You'll need it in a few months anyway.
