These are excellent shelf brackets, strong and light weight. The triangular frame offers many advantages. However, there are easily solvable design issues that prevent the use of these brackets. Because of their strength, I mount them with the 8" side against the wall and the 12" side supporting the shelf to handle a heavy load. There are two design issues. First, the most central of the three mounting holes is very close to the angled side of the triangular bracket and aligns directly with the reinforcement brace. Thus it is not even possible to insert a screw into the hole because the spacer is in the way. This is a pointless defect and can easily be remedied by moving the hole. The second issue is that the manufacturer recently abandoned the previous design with larger holes on the 8-inch side to accommodate the included heavy-duty screws to match the weight the mounts can support. The last batch of these mounts I've bought now have small holes on the 8" side and tiny screws that don't seem able to secure and hold the weight that the mount can support. Why this change was made I have no idea. My solution is to drill larger mounting holes and use my own heavy duty screws (except for the center hole which is useless due to its position). With this modification the braces work very well and are the best of this size that I have been able to find.
