Couldn't set a zero so got a one. Those cheap wheels don't slip on cheap axles. Due to the pressure of the gate weight and the spring tension, the plastic wheels clamp on the plastic axles. When opening, the movement of the doorway causes the wheels to rotate and the wheel axle brackets to slip. This slippage of the wheel axle causes the spring to swing and bang against the frame, creating the squealing and shaking you might associate with a distressed cat. Axles and springs work silently. If you only need one cable, just buy an OEM model. SCREECH SOLUTION: Rip out that unnecessary wheel assembly and reinstall the OEM. Luckily for me, my original wheel assembly still worked and all I had to do was replace the broken cable.
