Review on Opticron Rubber Objective Diameter 50 52Mm by Peris Auditore

I took the risk of buying these to replace lens caps for my very expensive and beautiful Zeiss Victory SF 10x42. Zeiss makes world-class optics, but the standard lens caps were flimsy and fell off the first time they were hung on something. As mentioned in a previous review, the stylized look of the Zeiss goggles leaves only a slight ridge on the sight tubes to allow those covers to close. They seemed to work well with household lights, but during the first real birding trip, which consisted of all-day hiking, driving, zipping on and off binoculars, and capes, these covers came off. After a day of trying to save her and put her back on, I gave up. It's a well made product and feels good - the caps themselves stay in place but the rings that hold them in place when the caps are removed remain. The weight of the caps is enough to pull them out for free. This round ring style just doesn't match the Zeiss Victory case. The quality of the material is above average, but unfortunately I can't say anything about the durability.
