Review on Sony BDPS1500 Blu Ray Player Model by Scott Reeves

This unit had front panel controls which is what I needed. It's also compact, which gamers didn't have 5 years ago, which is nice. I needed a device that could play Blu-ray discs and didn't require wifi or other extras and this seemed like the right device for me. However, there was a big problem when using the device for the first time: when playing Blu-ray discs (not yet tested with DVD), it stuttered a lot. The motion seemed to stop about twice a second as if rolling, which was awful. I tried going into the advanced menu options to change the settings but that didn't help. Then I updated the firmware to version M24.R.0214 from 07/28/15, which completely eliminated the gaps. Now I would rate him as a good player. If you are reading this, this firmware may already be installed in the model you ordered.
