Review on Boat Moisture Meter by Tramex by Josue Porter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Buy one instead of paying the inspector who says "The boat got wet " and then leaves.

I'm not a surveyor, but now I can probably become one. I paid a guy 250 to come out and rub this thing on the hull for 3 hours and he came up to the chain plates on the boat I loved and said. WOW. he is soaked. (Counter screamed) He banged on it with a hammer. it didn't make a solid sound. He checked the other side. The same thing. He looked at me. Then he said. Let me check the mast tilt. BEEEEEP (full scale) tapped it with a hammer. "Should I stop now? This boat is not insured,” I said. I paid the man 250 but knew next time I would have this gauge and do my own testing before calling the surveyor back. You can't beat this Revain.com price. The device is VERY well made. It comes in a nice zipped leather case. The quality is higher than what I saw. (This is a newer model PLUS) I am satisfied. I will also use this tool to check my boat if I find it for osmosis. If I find a spot that gets wet Cool, I'll fix that area before it becomes a problem. I think this $400 tool is just a fantastic idea to have on hand. Removes all guesses. There are LOTS of videos on YouTube showing how to use it and previewing the results. You know, if you're not stupid like me and pay someone 250 to come out and do it for you. Buy one if you are thinking about it, it makes financial sense to own one if you are buying a pre 1990 boat.

Pros
  • Measuring and marking tools
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
