Review on Soeos Stainless Pepper Grinder Premium by Adam Tidd

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Home Cook: Add a pinch of salt and pepper to any meal - they seem to work perfectly

Well I cook A LOT and usually for 4+ people and often for 50+. I have several high quality salt and pepper grinders but they are too small for the volume I use so I wanted to replace them with something that offered both quality and volume. Aesthetically, the glass and stainless steel containers are a nice touch to display your gourmet salt and pepper and avoid grinding messes. Mechanically, mills are upside down, meaning they must be turned over to allow the salt/pepper to exit, while many (most?) traditional mills are upside down, with a handle at the top turning the shaft towards the mill below. so it doesn't have to be reversed. With a grinder on top, these grinders have a nice lid that needs to be removed and replaced with each use and is easy to lose (at least in my house). Not like your good old restaurant salt and pepper mills where the ground product sloshes onto the floor. Of course, the lids are there to keep the grinders looking tidier and possibly to keep the salt and pepper fresh between uses. (my little rest). However, the primary goal of any spice grinder is to achieve the desired grain size and volume/flow rate for the task at hand. Bottom line, they're doing a great job. As for the reviews I've read complaining about the coarseness, flow etc of these grinders, well they are simple mechanics, just turn the little knob to the right for a finer grind and to the left for a coarser one grinding. I've tried this with the available settings and got at least 5 or 6 different levels of output from very coarse to semi-fine by gradually turning the knob from coarse to fine. Conclusion: If you don't want to spend 4 times as much. for some other "real" coffee grinders with fancy stainless steel and ceramic mechanics, choose this set and replace it after a few years if necessary.

Pros
  • FRESH SPICES: Tight-fitting stainless steel lid keeps your Himalayan sea salt, peppercorns, spices or herbs fresh and keeps them fresher for longer without letting in the wet and wet . Keep them away from dust between uses or when in storage.
