Review on Spigen Mag Fit Car Mount for Magsafe Phones - Secure Phone Holder (Charger Not Included) by Matt Venable

folks, it's useless. There is no USB-C in the car. Not enough power to charge with MagSafe.

Bought this for my girlfriend's car as she has an iPhone 12 and MagSafe charger by her bed. I thought how great it would be to replace the clunky old car mount she had. The Spigen Mag Fit fits snugly in the vent. My Apple OEM MagSafe charger worked perfectly. But then I want to glue it. USB-C! Yes! This is a 2019 Highlander XLE. The car has two USB Type A ports on the center console, each 2.1 amps (see photo). That's 10.5 watts. Not only do all MagSafe chargers have a USB-C connector, they also require 15W to operate! I searched the internet for a USB-C to USB Type A converter. There are many. Neither of them will work with MagSafe as they only put out the same 10.5 watts. When connected, MagSafe will not light up or charge the phone. That makes this product 100% useless junk. You can also just get a regular MagSafe magnetic mount that doesn't need to be charged. waste of money.
