Review on ๐Ÿš— DEA A5385 Front Right Engine Mount: Unmatched Stability and Precise Fitment for Optimal Vehicle Performance by Johnny Price

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Like the old, easy installation.

This appears to be the exact same design and construction as the old bracket. Considering the original mount lasted 180,000 miles, the engine probably won't see the end of this mount. The fit was perfect but I noticed reviews of other Cobalt mounts saying otherwise so I decided to fix the issue I was having. Remember that the old mount cracked and leaked liquid. I didn't realize it until after the replacement, but the motor was about an inch lower than it should have been. So when I removed the old bracket and put in the new one, there was about a 1/2 inch difference between the holes on the bracket and the holes on the motor. This is because the rubber in the old mount took so long to deform to accommodate the lower engine height. I could have used my jack that was supporting the engine to raise it up a bit which would have closed the gap, but instead I tightened the two screws holding the bracket to the car frame and used a screwdriver to turn the three screw holes in the best position to pry with motor. The mounting rubber is stiff, but it was light enough. Then the engine tightened three bolts and rose to its original position. The entire test took about 45 minutes. You could do it for 10 if you've done it before.
