Review on S Home Audio for Stereo System Components by Amit Amit ᠌

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The quality was disappointing, the product is bad.

I can’t say anything about working through the line-out - I took it for headphones. What we have: (with the Sennheiser HD205II) the bass is clear, collected, but very little. When you try to correct the equalizer quickly comes overload (at 32 ohms). The mids are pretentious and often just cut the ear. The upper frequencies are difficult to assess, because. averages just get in the way. You can hear all the details in the mid/high range very well - you can even hear the recording and mixing flaws from "unsecured, garage" performers, although this should be the case with any external DAC. These same headphones work perfectly (much better than with the amplifier under discussion) with inexpensive common receivers. Inside: separate power supply for the digital component and DAC (1 * 3.3v, 2 * 5v on three ams1117). Power supply to the OPA2134PA (mounted on the substrate) directly from the smoothing capacitor at 2200uF. Capacitors (including small ceramic ones) stand in front of each microcircuit. Comparison of installed microcircuits with photographs on reputable sites and stores suggests that this is a counterfeit, fake, rejection or something like that . Assuming that the microcircuits work "as expected", then the weak point can be called power and LPF after DAC. The layout on the printed circuit board is questionable, as is the quality of the board as a whole, so there is no point in even upgrading. Two weeks later, I replaced the op amp with OPA2132PA (original) - the fat is quieter) The sound became more balanced and thick, although the replacement had almost no effect on the bass. MF are now friends with HF. Now it's time to replace the container. Yes, I replaced 2200 with a Japanese 3300 - the bass became stable. In general, now it is quite a decent VCL for headphones. I'll ask you to solder the DAC in the service - everything is too small there.

Pros
  • Decent, metal case. Excellent detail in mid/high
Cons
  • Bad sound in headphones
