I used this for pumping liquids. Mostly motor oil from a lawnmower that has to be tipped over to drain the oil. I took a one and a half liter glass bottle with a hard plastic screw cap "Thunderball". I drilled two holes in the lid to fit snugly in the vinyl tube, the aquarium air tube. The vacuum side of the pump goes in a little hole to keep it clean on the bottle. The other hole in the bottle has a hose that goes to the bottom of the bottle and to the mower's oil supply system and when you start the pump it sucks air out of the bottle and this vacuum pulls the oil out of the mower. There is always air flowing through the pump and everything should be fine. Dispose of used oil at a recycling center. Leads to no spillage of used motor oil.
