Engine worked great the first time and only this time. Sufficient power is required, as expected (requires up to 1A at 4.5V when pumping water, or less than 0.3A when there is no liquid). There was no more liquid (water) in it after the first use, when I tried to use it after a few days it wouldn't start. The reason was pretty obvious but surprising - the motor shaft was blocked by rust on the motor bearings, see pictures! Refund, apparently they used cheap material in a place exposed to water.

Used as a vacuum pump for Chinese microdermabrasion sticks. At 6V DC (a handy wall wart) a nominal suction of 40kPa (nominal pressure 100) was achieved exactly (the pump is rated for 4.5V DC), the current is much lower than the maximum, so overvoltage doesn't seem to be at least a suction problem. 40 kPa is 18 inches Hg. I used this for pumping liquids. Mostly motor oil from a lawnmower that has to be tipped over to drain the oil. I took a one and a half liter glass bottle with a hard plastic screw cap "Thunderball". I drilled two holes in the lid to fit snugly in the vinyl tube, the aquarium air tube. The vacuum side of the pump goes in a little hole to keep it clean on the bottle.
