Tacoma TRD Sport 2016 4-door

So nice to have a power tailgate! There are several YouTube videos on installation and they all do a few different things, mostly about how and where to route the cables. watched some videos and I think followed the wires from the passenger side camera and went through the firewall. I'm not a big fan of cables under carpets or other places where people could step on them. On my truck, the long cable that comes with it is long enough to go from the inside of the tailgate and through the firewall into the cab. Just like Big O did in his video How to Install a Power Tailgate Lock on a 17 Tacoma by Pop n Lock. I suggest that you watch both of the YouTube videos I mentioned above and pick the parts of each that you like. Wires from green to green and blue to red. I used the clamps that came with it, but I want to remove them and solder the wires together. The camera cable has a thermal sheath if it gets near the exhaust system and I'd like to have one of those. I ran my cable along the side of this shielded cable using the included zip ties to hold it in place. Try using a wire with protection to protect the new wire. After I was done I used about 8 more zip ties. But I'm just too careful. Everything you need is in the box, but I'd suggest getting extra zip ties, a high temp split sleeve, electrical tape, and some sort of slide rod lube on the Pop & Lock. There were several reviews that mentioned this. was quite noisy, mine is perfect for me to know it's working.
