I recently installed this on my 17 Tacoma and it works fine. The wire positioning blocks from the tailgate to the bottom of the bed are the worst. Don't follow P&L instructions, they apply to Tundra, not Tacoma. I have both sets of wires installed in case I ever remove the tailgate. There are some good Tacoma installation videos on YouTube. There are several YouTube videos on installation and they all do a few different things, mostly about how and where to route the cables. watched some videos and I think followed the wires from the passenger side camera and went through the firewall. I'm not a big fan of cables under carpets or other places where people could step on them. I installed this on a standard 07 Tundra double cabin bed. I started by following the instructions (and my own Pop & Lock youtube video) which indicated that the wiring had to be routed down the left side rail of the truck frame. Ignore what the vehicle compatibility checker tells you - this unit works great with 2017 Toyota Tacoma. I have a TRD Off Road double cabin short bed and it works great! A few installation notes: I agree with other reviewers who state that the instructions are wrong when installing this unit in a Tacoma.
