Review on 🚴 Tannus Armour Tire Inserts: Puncture-Proof Bike Tube Protector for Thorns & Pinching by Andrew Cramer

It's hard to find anything nice in this product. I bought it for my son's 24 inch wheels. He rides some serious rock gardens and loves the low pressure that causes pinching. So I was excited to try this. It was a big and expensive disappointment. At first the parts arrived crooked. Someone decided that the small savings on shipping is worth the risk of terrible customer service. Just to use it I had to inflate a 20 inch tube in one and let it sit for 5 days. The facility wasn't bad. The tire was a 2.0" Maxxix Snyper. I used some soapy water and a thin piece of rope to help with the installation. Once trimmed, the installation time for the tire and Tannus was about 20 minutes. Tannus thought the center of the tire was pretty good "You have to have strong arms and tire levers to do that. I've also worked with bikes for 21 years and I usually find a way to get things together. On the first test ride the rolling resistance of the tire is significantly higher. I think that's why that I only have 12psi in the rear tire. Tannus is so stiff and hard that the tire needs almost no air. My son weighs about 75 pounds. which seems reasonable for a 9 year old. A 24" bike is the one perfect size for him. The Tannus also feels almost as heavy as the tire itself. After all this confusion, I came to the conclusion that I should have just bought the Maxxis Minions for the same price as they wouldn't add any more weight than what they currently have to have. You'll probably connect a lot better too. A higher volume results in fewer bruises at the same pressure. The big handles make it look cool too. We have yet to drive through the rock gardens to see if the thrust increases at low pressure. I would feel better if I didn't waste $80 and a few hours of my time. I am happy to revise my review if I find positive aspects.
