They are easy to install if you watch the video and use the reduced rim diameter center line as a guide. The installation wasn't that difficult at all. If you are unfamiliar with mounting tires on rims, watch one of the YouTube videos. Talc or baby powder makes aligning tubes and inserts in the splint much easier, although I didn't use it. It is not possible to maintain the correct position/orientation of the foam inside the tire during installation. When the tube is inflated, it can change the position of the foam. This kit is advantageous because it includes both the armor and the smaller inner tube needed for a successful installation. You cannot use the original tube as it is too big to use with the armor insert unless you increase the tire size. Installing these things is pretty easy. I had to cut the armor per the instructions in Step 1 because my tire size was smaller than what the kit supports. About five years ago I finally said goodbye to tubeless models. I'm not a racer who wants to save 100 grams. I just want to be able to ride all day without spending hours fixing flat tires (often with a camera anyway) or worrying if the air pressure is too low to hold the bead or protect the rim when I'm hitting rocks drive. .
