Review on 🚴 Tannus Armour Tire Inserts: Puncture-Proof Bike Tube Protector for Thorns & Pinching by Bobby Washburn

I bought this with great anticipation as I had dealt with several leaks before. First I must warn you that without special tools to clamp and hold the tire during installation it is VERY DIFFICULT to install. After installing it became noticeably more difficult to drive and found it harder for me to catch up from races on flat sections of road. For that reason alone, I'm not sure I want to keep using it. Worst of all though is the cheapness of the bulbs that come with the kit I received. The stem completely detached from my rear tube and went completely flat on my third ride with it. To the product's credit, I was able to drive home slowly with flat tires, but with quite an effort as the tires were very warped and chafed. I'm torn because it helped me get home faster, but it put me in a bind in the first place. My recommendation: only consider them for trail riding where rolling resistance isn't an issue, and if you get them, buy separate tubes; discard them if you receive a kit that contains them.
