Review on Prime Line 5145 Screen Storm Button by Carl Durant

Good price, takes time to get it right

We bought this to finally fit our front door latch and handle on a screened door and this product has worked very well. once we figure out how it works properly. It's tricky as the instructions aren't the most helpful (so had to go a star) but with enough time, effort and patience (patience certainly) you can fix what's bothering your door. Aside from the spring flying off and the button falling off when fitted (not because it's a bad product as it was just difficult to fit as this is my wife and I's first time dealing with it and the instructions left a lot to be desired left), it works fine . Note that if you don't cut the black piece behind the button or if you don't insert the spring correctly, you will have to do a test. If you take your time, measuring twice and cutting once, this should work like a charm. Apart from the installation instructions, this works well and looks good. Our door is white and this handle is white, so the black knob isn't exactly desirable, but it does the job. I think it won't take long to draw, but I have to try. I would recommend but understand the need for patience and time to get it right. Good product in everything.

Pros
  • REPLACE OLD OR BROKEN DOOR HANDLES - If your screen or storm door handle is broken, don't replace the entire door, just get a new set of door handles! This classic push button design latch set is made from durable aluminum with a black plastic button. It has a white finish and is equipped with a night lock for extra security.
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
