Review on EEZ-Y Oversized Golf Umbrella - 58 Inch Double Canopy With Heavy Duty Windproof Design, Foldable To 23 Inches For Travel, Break Resistant Rain Umbrella by Ryan Lindstrom

Strong, good compromises.

I am pretty happy with this umbrella. It seems to be well made and sturdy. The wind vent definitely helps for one this size. This is a good compromise between portability, size and strength.Full size golf umbrellas fold up to like 4 feet long which is pretty awkward to carry and store. It wont go in a car easily or on a shelf. However, the elements only have 1 hinge which gives it better strength and less likely to fail.Umbrellas of similar size that fold to 1 foot long are convenient (although fat), but the elements must be folded over two times, in other words, 4 separate segments with 4 total joints per segment. This means less strength and more likely to fail. This one has each element split into two segments such that each brace is two pieces. It folds down to under 2 feet with handle which is good enough for easy carrying, stores in a car easily, and can be put on a shelf, etc. Sure, its not as nice as the 1 foot fold ones but increased strength and reliability seems to be worth it to me, unless you carry a purse and have room and want to be able to store it there (which seems kind of unlikely as you wouldn't carry it around always, nor would want to get purse wet when stowing it).It auto-opens via spring loading, and the button causes it to untension and you manually close it. Not as cool as the auto-close ones but also less mechanisms to break. All in all, I am happy with it. Nice to have a quite large umbrella in a reasonable carrying size.

Pros
  • Sports & Outdoors
Cons
  • The double canopy design may not provide enough ventilation during hot weather
