OK. This is a five star rating in part because you are giving me a break. wireless bike computer with calorie counter and thermometer for about 16 euros? It must mean something. So first to the bad things. It has three menus from which to choose how far the display goes, and what you get on each screen is what you get. You cannot customize the rows of data that are displayed. For example, I'd like a speedometer with a thermometer, but I can't get one. If I want to know the temperature instead, I have to switch from the second screen to the third screen to read it. This screen shows "Max Speed" instead of your current speed, which is completely useless to me. It would be nice to know what your top speed was after the ride. It's just not something I need to know on a regular basis. Second, the guide is very detailed, very complex, not very well written, and a bit confusing. When setting up different display strings, you're not always sure which string you're working on. Once you start reading the instructions, you will eventually understand them. but until then the setup mode expires and you have to start over. Third, you can't pack multiple lines of data into such a small block unless the font is too small. Again, it's not the device's fault that the lines are small as they are, but it can be annoying. A good thing. Backlight works well. There are a number of different settings but I didn't set anything other than what was in the box and you press 'mode' at night to get a good 3 seconds of light. And it illuminates the entire display despite coming from the left side of the device. The clinical thermometer works! I used to have a Planet Bike Pewter, a wired device that I bought specifically for the thermometer, and it was awful. I left the house the day I knew it was 30 degrees and showed 74 degrees or so, and when I got to work about 25 minutes later it said 56 degrees. This also seems to be working fine at the moment. You can program Celsius or Fahrenheit. See also kilometers or miles for other measurement parameters. Setup is simple and straightforward. To be honest, all the storms and strains that people rave about in reviews have me confused. I mounted mine on the left side of the bike, made sure the magnet was centered on the wheel sensor, turned it on and it had instant momentum. Tip: I didn't have to do this as the magnet on this device is quite strong. However, you can buy the smallest neodymium magnet and attach one or two to the wheel magnet to increase its strength and range. Then you don't have to adjust the distance to the sensor to the micron of its lifetime. These craft magnets are 2mm in diameter and 1mm thick. speedometer accuracy. yes i am not sure This appears to be accurate based on how far away the destination is and the travel distance, which seems to correlate well. The instructions give some common sizes for different wheel diameters. It's not 700 x 25c, however, so I can't see how well my measured/calculated girth "matches" their estimate. The calorie counting function calculates your weight in kilograms, where a pound equals approximately 2.2 kilograms. I personally think that any calorie counting feature is useless. How fast you move and how many calories you burn depends on too many variables. Durability, water resistance, battery life, etc. are currently unknown. If they turn out to be "bad" I will post updates.
