First of all, the artificial fire is surprisingly realistic, especially when the light dims and the plastic shade becomes completely invisible. I give five for that. I had problems with the plastic screen. In the fireplace insert, where I wanted to put the wood, there was enough space for everything, including a plastic screen. However, the opening in the chimney was too small for anything to get in without tipping the appliance. I tried installing the screen after installing a set of logs, but that required me to work out of sight and I couldn't get the screen to find the grooves. I then tried to install the screen before inserting the device, but the screen fell out of the grooves every time. I tried to slightly tape the screen to the ends of the lag set to gently remove the tape when the block was in the liner, but the screen fell out again. Finally I glued the screen to grooves 2 and 4. This time the screen stayed in place when the entire device was installed. I removed the tape very carefully and vowed NEVER TO TOUCH IT AGAIN!
