The screws are exposed as if they were real soft silver! We didn't get the screws right the first time and this stupid thing was ONLY removed during installation. Actually we are still trying to get it out of the door frame to replace it with another screw. We can't just leave it there because it doesn't go all the way in, so it sticks out and prevents us from inserting the chain. I am very disappointed in the quality of the fittings in this set. I also do not recommend using this set of doors with windows. We also have to replace the two screws with shorter ones of our own because they are too long and could break the glass in the wood. It wasn't the easy setup I was hoping for. My biggest complaint is how easily the screws come loose. I don't know what metal they are made of but they suck and I don't recommend this product unless you have your own higher quality screws to use instead. Update: I still haven't removed the screw from our door frame and its head broke off when I tried to loosen it with pliers. It was such an incredible fiasco that I'm downgrading it to one star. DO NOT buy this unless you get the best hardware to install!
