The cream cools my coffee, so I warm it up with the coffee maker. It takes a while to warm up but once it gets hot I switch to blue and it holds the temperature well for the rest of the morning. Warning: when it's red it can get really hot and I've really burned myself. The packaging warns against this. I wasn't paying attention when I took my coffee. It has heat to keep soups and chillies warm/hot and to melt cheese. I can put my lunch on it and work and it will stay warm for hours. I forget to eat when I'm focused and nobody likes cold food.
