Oooooh this is my first dehydrator. I like it. So far I've dehydrated bananas, pineapples, beef, and made fruit rolls. Since this is my first dehydrator, I have nothing to compare it to. However, my impression is that it does a good job. The banana and pineapple chunks came out perfect. However, I have found that the pieces at the front of the machine take a little longer to fully dehydrate. It may be because I keep opening the door. In any case, this is not a major disadvantage. It is enough to turn the grate in the middle of drying. My first beef jerky was also too salty, but that has nothing to do with the dehydrator. It did an excellent job of quickly dehydrating jerky (4 hours with the first hour at 172F and then 155F). I will definitely use it - a lot. Dried fruits are great. I chose this dehydrator primarily for the following reasons: 1) It heats up to 172°F. 2) It comes with leather fruit bowls, small food mats and silicone oven mitts. I really like that I didn't have to search and buy anything else the first time around to make fruit rolls and pineapple chunks (they shrink A LOT without water). All in all I can recommend this dehydrator. It does the job well and has many temperature and time options.
