Review on RJ45 Crimp Tool Kit With 50PCS Cat5E/Cat6 Connectors And Covers - Ethernet Network Cable Crimper For CAT6 Crimping. by Miguel Escobar

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Cable cutter broke on first use

I will start with the positives:The set is really pretty inexpensive for what you are gettingThe pass-through connectors are pretty good (100% success in the cables I have made so far)The end-crimper end of the tool works fantasticallyThe stripper tool works quicklyI have been working with a very high quality cable (Monoprice Cat6 solid copper riser) which is very stiff and the inner wires are hard to get through the heads as necessary however it is doable. Now here are the negatives:The stripper tool cuts a little too deep but this might be resolved with some practice with it.The heads are pretty tight for larger real cat 6 cable but they do work. The tester is really lightweight and I am sure if I drop it onto the floor it is going to breakThe battery contact on the tester nearly tore off when removing the 9volt battery after use.But here is the big issue: The cutter head on the cut/strip portion broke on the very first time I used it. I cut only 5 cables and when I went to trim ends up to make using the pass-through ends work - I found the blade was cracked in half, as seen. Not sure if I can even get replacement blades for it but it definitely irritated me. I would really prefer to have paid a few dollars more and had a reliable cutting blade.
