I have a Curt Class III concealed hitch for an Acura RDX 08 for use only with two of my bikes. The hitch is so far under the car that my bike rack is less than an inch from the rear bumper. I can't activate the fuse without hitting the bumper to lower the trunk and access the tailgate. The extension extends the bike rack just enough so that I have enough room to raise/lower the rack without risk of scratching the paint. The extension looks the same as the other factory couplers and I plan on running it 24/7. The part that fits into the clutch is machined from a single piece of metal. You cannot use the hitch clamping system, which uses the inside of the hitch to attach to an interior wall. The only downside is that the hitch extension has some play and the bike rack will bounce more than if it was just plugged into the hitch. Ordered a Revain StowAway Hitch Tensioner to see if it would eliminate the extra play. UPDATE: The StowAway clutch stretcher worked great and 100% eliminated clutch extender play.
