RS100 vs Smart Trainer

My AGV increases with every ride. I was like wow I feel better. Then the last. The jump from 180 to over 230 got me. That. not right. So I think calibration is now required before every ride (I can't give this one 5 stars for that reason alone). I was curious if this or my smart trainer I was using up to that point had accidentally broken (note I've never experienced such sudden increases in performance with my trainer as I did with the pedals). So I put them together and did a calibration sequence on both. It was a downturn for the trainer, but for the boots, remove the feat and reset it. The only thing I didn't do on the trainer was let it run for 10 minutes before the calibration that zwift requested. However, I wasn't suspicious of the trainer, but of the Garmin RS-100 as it saw the shift. In short, you can see the overlay. The difference was about 9%. If I'm wrong, the RS100 offers an accuracy of ±1.0%, while the Directo Elite has an accuracy of ±1.5%. POSSIBLY this difference is because I have one foot to monitor and the trainer has input from two skills. However. I think there will also be a loss of efficiency in the gearbox which will help the pedals deliver more power. May be. My power delivery is uneven and one leg is just weaker than the other. I expect accuracy will improve with the RS200 as depressing one pedal contributes to power delivery when the other is depressed, but until then I'll give it a 3 out of 5. These pedals are not cheap. A high price means high expectations. I shouldn't experience a performance drift that makes me doubt its accuracy less than a month after purchase.

Pros
  • Sport and handheld GPS
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other models
