Another thing I didn't like about this light is that the wiring doesn't come out of the center line. Because there is no slot for the cable, it can never be installed in the center line. For example, a hole in a boat (or whatever you're putting in place) g has to be off-center to allow wiring to pass. Conversely, if the hole is in the middle, there is no light. I think this will work if you don't need to replace an existing light. In this case, drill the hole for the lantern slightly off-centre. Also, it's "chrome" plastic, not metal. The design correction is to move the wiring so that its center is on the lantern itself.
