Description of Highly Visible White Stern LED Marine Navigation Light - IP67 Waterproof, USCG Approved, Corrosion Resistant Chrome and ABS - Ideal for Fishing Boat, Yacht, Pontoon up to 65.6' (20m)

ALWAYS RELIABLE - A stern light is an important piece of safety equipment on your boat and must be able to function in all weather conditions. Unlike other, cheaper lights, our lights are silicone sealed, fully submersible, and IP67 rated. COMPLETELY LEGAL - You can cruise with confidence knowing that our stern lights are USCG approved in accordance with 33 CFR 183.810, meet ABYC standard A-16, are visible up to 2NM, and can be used on boats up to 65.6' (20m) in length. LOW MAINTENANCE - Caring for a boat is a time-consuming endeavor and your lights shouldn't add to the workload. Made from corrosion resistant, chrome-plated ABS, and equipped with long-lasting LEDs, these lights are one less thing to worry about. LESS WASTE - Finding ways to reduce your equipment's total amp draw is an important consideration for any boat owner. Drawing only .2 watts of power, these LED lights are a great way to cut out unnecessary power drains. FLEXIBLE POWER - Our lights are designed to handle a wider range of input voltages than other lights on the market, so whether you're running a 12 or 24-volt system on your boat, these lights will fit your setup.

Nice little light - Sport

Arrived earlier than stated. Looks good and does what it promises. Seems a little less bright than expected, will check next time I have a boat at night.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Useless features

Still works in water

It says 'silicone sealed' but after only a few days it started to condense in the light. it started before he hit the water and i also 5200 to the boat. The light is still on, but the water turns off the light.

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Update available

Inaccurate current draw

I chose this tail light for its low current consumption, based on the advertised wattage of 0.2W. Measured with a reliable multimeter, it drew 0.053A at 12VDC or 0.636W. Not too terrible but seriously more than 3x the advertised spec.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Modern

Plastic body, no metal

Another thing I didn't like about this light is that the wiring doesn't come out of the center line. Because there is no slot for the cable, it can never be installed in the center line. For example, a hole in a boat (or whatever you're putting in place) g has to be off-center to allow wiring to pass. Conversely, if the hole is in the middle, there is no light. I think this will work if you don't need to replace an existing light. In this case, drill the hole for the lantern slightly…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure
