Best Of The Bunch 1 Year Update Multi Car Use

See below 1 year update Have tried a number of products, this is my favourite. Gave the rest back and get more for other cars. Applications included the third generation Prii and the previous generation Ford Ranger with an Android mobile phone such as the Nokia 4.2. We weren't able to use the included 3-inch/80mm pad as there wasn't a flat surface to place it on. "So we glued the car mount directly to the dashboard. Although the dashboard is textured and not smooth, it seems to stick well. There are six relatively strong magnets under the silicone rubber cover. And they seemed to stick relatively well, too really heavy phone/tablet and have a thicker cover you may need to glue the metal piece to the outside of the cover, not the inside like we did to place the phone at a good angle We tried another model, with only one pivot and it didn't have enough movement to point the phone where we need it.Except for the company logo printing, everything is solid black so it looks good and doesn't cause any glare. The company logo is a separate issue. The Wife thinks it looks great other than that. We want to remove the "JOYROOM" stamp from the unit. But the solvents w ir have tried don't work. I still like the 1 year update product. One of them came loose and had to be reattached. The rest held out. Maybe we just did a better job with the others, or maybe it was because we use it more often. The units are supplied with an 80mm black plastic backing pad which you should use when applying to the curved surface of the dashboard. The pad is flat on both sides so it really won't stick to a surface with any kind of curvature. And since the base of the JOYROOM itself is 35mm, the liner requires a much larger flat surface area than the JOYROOM itself. It should be useful on many flat, textured surfaces though. A curved surface requires a 35mm pad, curved on one side and flat on the other, with additional self-adhesive foam pads. However, since different dashes and attachment points have different curvatures, you need an assortment. It would be great either as a standalone product or it could be integrated into JOYROOM. (It would also be possible to make foam discs designed so that one side conforms to a curved surface and the other is flat.) Another option would be to use a thicker foam disc. The extra foam may allow it to conform better to the curved surface. The discs are marked with 3M VHB™. But I don't know if there are such discs of different thicknesses. Since we didn't have a thicker foam tape disc, we decided to use two pieces of foam tape discs on top of each other. Let's see if it lasts longer than the first try. The instructions also do not say how to remove adhesive residue from the dashboard if you want to remove the device.

Pros
  • Elegant Design
Cons
  • The list will be long.
