Review on ๐Ÿ”ง MEIJIA Portable Stainless Steel Tool Storage Box, Organizers with Metal Latches and Detachable Tray - Elegant Black (Medium) by Jeff Kersey

Ok, not the strongest box but works

Product Review: MEIJIA Stainless Steel Portable Tool Storage Box, Organizer with Smart Latches and Removable Tray, 15.75 x 9.45 x 8.35 inches (Elegant Black) ( small) This is a decent but somewhat flimsy toolbox that will stand up to gentle use. Calling it "stainless steel" in the description is overly optimistic. Only front-bottom-rear has a thin steel reinforcement plate (covers front-bottom-rear). Everything else is plastic. The plastic flexes a little more than I'd like, and my biggest concern is the lid hinge. This is the predicted weak spot and weak point of this toolbox, and the reason the lid sometimes doesn't line up with the front hinges. The flimsy rear hinge has a few millimeters of left-to-right play that can completely break the lid's alignment. A real shame. The handle is also thin plastic, and that's an unfortunate design choice. My guess is that when fully loaded, the weight over time will put too much stress on the thin plastic rod of the handlebar pivot assembly and cause it to break. The plastic side and the lid in general don't bother me, just a little more attention to the lid hinge and handle hinge would have made the tool chest that much more durable. Having critiqued the design, some highlights include a spacious interior (even on the small model I have) with a nice top shelf accessory. The steel bottom plate does a good job with a whole range of tools. Long enough to easily take a 20 ounce jackhammer. It has enough fatal design flaws that seriously compromise what could have been a decent toolbox that I would rate this box 2/5 stars. I would not recommend that.
