Heavy enough not to tip over and big enough not to need constant refilling
We have larger hermit crabs that tend to tip over lighter water bowls, but they can't tip over. So that the little crabs don't get into too much water, we put a sponge in the middle. It's big enough that you don't have to refill it every day (usually every other day to keep the water fresh).
