I bought these for my husband to use with his stone grinder to protect his fingers. They work well for the purpose and are strong but have a really horrible chemical smell which I smelled even before I opened the soft mail folder. My husband put them in his coat pocket and although they were wrapped in a plastic bag they smelled like his coat. He will try to wash them to see if the smell goes away and if not we throw them away. I see from some of the other reviews that we are not the only ones with this complaint. I would not recommend this product if you are concerned about chemical odors. updated: We were about to throw them out but my husband decided to soak them in water for a few weeks and it helped get rid of the smell. However, I don't think the buyer needs to fight the smell and soak the product in water to make it palatable. The seller should resolve this issue with the manufacturer.
