I haven't tried it yet but I bought it for my daughter to help her use a sewing needle. Not sure I'll be back - I've been letting them out to air for a few days now. They have a toxic odor. I turned dark brown.

I am a museum educator. We give children needle felt for a month and use it to protect their fingers. In almost all cases, the skin stops the needle. If you are unfortunate enough to hit the needle along the suture, the needle can slip between the layers of skin. But that is highly unlikely and has only happened to us once. Great price, works as expected. I only wish they were in the larger sizes, some of the larger adults have had issues with them.

I bought these for my husband to use with his stone grinder to protect his fingers. They work well for the purpose and are strong but have a really horrible chemical smell which I smelled even before I opened the soft mail folder. My husband put them in his coat pocket and although they were wrapped in a plastic bag they smelled like his coat. He will try to wash them to see if the smell goes away and if not we throw them away. I see from some of the other reviews that we are not the only ones…
