I got this EA3500 thinking it was an update for my unnamed Monoprice router which sometimes drops connections but actually still works most of the time. After setting up the EA3500 router with my wired laptop, the router will not communicate with my wired desktop computer. I can run the cable back to my cheap router and it talks to my desktop with no problem. The EA3500 intermittently connects wirelessly to my laptop 5 feet away. It doesn't connect to my wired Comcast DVR at all. I found out all this too late - I kept the EA3500 router in the box for more than 90 days (end of support), waiting for the cheap one to fail. I've tried a few setting changes and tried flashing the firmware (update not available since 2012). I contacted Linksys support and tried to claim that the EA3500 was defective (1 year warranty) but was told that the problem was obviously my computer and that I should use a static IP address. I didn't, but they wouldn't accept returns and instead tried to sell me one of their 'service packages'. My old Linksys router worked fine with this computer (until it died for no good reason), as did my cheap no-name router. I'm just going to throw the EA3500 in the trash, not throwing good money after bad money for a service pack. I will avoid Linksys in the future.
