Okay, as long as you live among the Luddites

I am a victim of technological inertia. If it works, even if it's maybe a bit slow, I don't want to replace it if it works. It's not that I don't like shiny new things. It's just a pain to move, reconfigure etc etc. I'm too lazy. So I was very happy with this router when I first got it many years ago. I've never been particularly happy with the 5GHz band, but I understood the battle the signal was going through in my old house, and every router struggled. However, as neighborhood interference…

Works great over ethernet but wifi sucks

My situation: I have 100Mbps internet through Xfinity. Bought a 2.4GHz TP Link modem/router a few months ago. The max speed was 65 Mbps, so I wanted to see if adding a dual-band router would increase the speed. My Experience: The N750 worked fine when connected via Ethernet (I connected it to an Nvidia Shield and got a stable 105-119 Mbps, which is pretty darn fast). Using the 2.4GHz or 5GHz band, this device was a huge disappointment. I walked less than 10 meters from the router and when using

Step back for networking products

I have had Linksys WRT54GL wireless routers (this is the previous version, dual antenna router) for many years and have used them for many friends. It was a good wireless router, but the number of max NAT rules was always an issue, at least for me. Well, maybe it's time to upgrade to the EA3500/N750 and enjoy the possibilities of 8003.11.n. I bought it and installed it with some problems and it's been up and running for about 2 months. In my experience, if you have a good working Linksys…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure

I got this EA3500 thinking it was an update for my unnamed Monoprice router which sometimes drops connections but actually still works most of the time. After setting up the EA3500 router with my wired laptop, the router will not communicate with my wired desktop computer. I can run the cable back to my cheap router and it talks to my desktop with no problem. The EA3500 intermittently connects wirelessly to my laptop 5 feet away. It doesn't connect to my wired Comcast DVR at all. I found out…

Sad to know Linksys got the job done

My 5 year old Linksys E2500 was a great router but I felt I needed a little more range for my mobile devices. EA3500 (N750) promised it. And yes, it had slightly better range, although not as much as I was hoping. Because I was so happy with the previous product, I didn't trawl through all 5,000 reviews, so I didn't have any horror until I got it: You have two options - either let Linksys manage your router themselves, or you follow the complicated reset process to a frozen firmware time, no…

Suitable for wired connections, WLAN seems insufficient.

My wife and I have both gaming PCs and Xbox Ones that are hardwired, so I was looking for an affordable gigabit router. This one fit the bill and couldn't have been better for the price. Wi-Fi is really only used for our phones, which seems like a good thing. The range isn't that great, our house isn't that big, and my phone shows a bar or two just a few rooms away from the router. Speed over the wire is excellent, better than using wired plugs on the modem for the router, but over Wi-Fi it's…

Great device, range could be longer

Setting up the device is very easy. The entire process of setting up the router took no more than 5 minutes. Both the instructions in the manual and the built-in help in the mobile application are well explained. I really think I learned a bit about networking just by reading the manual. I had to make some changes to the configuration left by the setup wizard, but it was very easy thanks to the detailed explanation of each topic. Group. I bought this router to be able to connect to the internet
