Although I don't drive an 18 wheeler, I'm still a Class A driver on a Ram 4500 with CM flatbed. I got this for winding straps, but the unit had two main problems installing it: it was too low so I had to bend down to wind the straps, and 2) the handle isn't wide enough to empty toolboxes, and I can't get away with it. As a result I will return it. Overall the product was easy to assemble and the material looked solid, but to me it's completely useless due to the issues it has.
