It's definitely a hub

This hub works great for me it's a hub not a switch as someone said in a review. Just plug in the cables, I don't have to do anything. I worked in IT support until I retired. Most of the time people's problem is due to a cable connector contact or a fitting problem. A cheap ethernet cable tester will tell. Use Category 5 or higher Ethernet cables. Try a different cable or port.
