I bought this mainly for mandrels, not so much for grinding wheels. The mandrel works very well with my cordless drill. It's actually two parts. The base mandrel is a small foam attachment with Velcro. It's relatively rigid and will work well in certain situations. In addition, there is a soft sponge padding on both sides with Velcro, which is more pliable and better for other uses. However, I have complaints about the hard drives. I used this to grind an internal turn on my lathe. I used 5 different grains. On two of them, the edge of the disc's abrasive layer caught one of the holes in the piece, tearing off large chunks. The build quality of the drives is basically below average. Also, not all discs have a grit. I assume it's because they were cut from a larger sheet and some of them were just cut between the stamped numbers.
