ENSURE the PIPING BETWEEN the valve and the tub spout is made of copper or galvanized material and NOT polyethylene. Pex has a smaller diameter and insufficient flow for water to flow through. This means that water will overflow through the shower head. I made the same mistake. You can use pex for left, right, and even top joins, but not for bottom joins. The instructions don't emphasize this enough. Instructions call for galvanized or copper colored top and bottom. Update: I bought 4 of these for a (4) bathroom remodel. The one that entered service first has already failed. The pressure compensation cartridge had to be replaced, the handle just turned instead of shutting off the water. (make sure you know where the main switch is). I hope my other 3 souls don't fail. Update 2: The above was user error, however 1 of 4 valves in the ball valve part failed (driven by a screwdriver).
