Pipette and leak!

Absolute bullshit! Expired immediately. My plumber tried and tried. He says the inside is thin plastic. Failed! After a few weeks of drip-drip, I got him to open the wall and insert the delta. Don't waste your money on Grohe 35015001. Too late for me to go back. Don't repeat the same mistake!

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Bottom Line - Defect

Grohe is reputedly a high-end company for faucets, handles and all plumbing fixtures. And her stuff is beautiful so I bought tons of them for our new home. But the unfinished valve, like many of the items we ordered, arrived defective. And to replace the rough valve, you need to rip out the wall and tiles. Do not buy.

Pros
  • Hands-Free Operation
Cons
  • Functionality

Bought brand new and installed by a licensed plumber. Started leaking after 8 days. I tightened the hood nut but it didn't help. Cartridge replaced with a new one. The same thing happened. After replacing 3 cartridges in 3 months, I opened one up and found it was NOT a ceramic disc. Instead, it has spring-loaded rubber seals on a PLASTIC disc, AND IT IS NOT WITHOUT DRIPS.

Pros
  • Cool item
Cons
  • Has defects

We bought this for brand and reputation. Unfortunately .

We bought this because of the brand and reputation. Unfortunately, we found that once you move the lever to a certain temperature, very few options are offered if you want to raise or lower it. In most cases I just turned it off and then adjusted from the "off" position, especially when it's too hot in the shower. - it's a pain. I doubt I'll tackle that particular valve again (all the lights in my house are Grohe).

After two weeks it's dripping and dripping

I bought this Grohe Universal Rough Clean valve to match my Grohe shower enclosure. My licensed plumber helped me install it and tested it after installation. However, after two weeks, the water started dripping and leaking. The shower head cannot shut off the water completely. My plumber said I had to get internal parts from the manufacturer to fix the problem. It's too late to change the whole valve. We have to break the tiles and open the wall to change it. Just sent a message to Grohe, hope

Pros
  • Top marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • I'm writing back

Nice valve but buy 1 " brass bath fill nipple

This is a versatile mixing valve designed for use with a bath and shower or just a bath (comes with a brass disc to control flow blocking). Shower head only fits in the bath). I had to solder it to copper pipe as I live in a country that has a healthy rodent population and I didn't want them chewing on PEX. A word of caution. On my 2x4- wall frame, the clearance between the valve body and the Grohe tub spout was very short and required a 1-1/8 or shorter brass nipple. My plumber ran out of 1"…

MAKE SURE THE PIPE IS BETWEEN THE VALVE AND THE TANK.

ENSURE the PIPING BETWEEN the valve and the tub spout is made of copper or galvanized material and NOT polyethylene. Pex has a smaller diameter and insufficient flow for water to flow through. This means that water will overflow through the shower head. I made the same mistake. You can use pex for left, right, and even top joins, but not for bottom joins. The instructions don't emphasize this enough. Instructions call for galvanized or copper colored top and bottom. Update: I bought 4 of these…

There is no hot water limit in the manual. Why?

I took this thing apart, reread the instructions and couldn't figure out how to control the amount of hot water that mixes into this valve. It turns out that this is not in the attached instructions. Now it makes no sense. However, the setting of the maximum hot water limit is described in the installation instructions for the shower handle. It would make sense to have it in both. I love the construction and even the homeowner can easily take it apart and put it back together with no fuss. I…

Headache during installation

Instructions are not very user friendly. Many small pictures and instructions are written in a separate section. It would be helpful to combine pictures with instructions to make the installation process clearer. Per the position shown, the valve had to be mounted on the 2 x 6 behind the wall studs so it could be adjusted to the desired depth. Luckily we had room behind the stilettos. Then we had problems with the valve head – the head screws were too short and the metal sleeve that the button…
