Review on Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice Arctic 195/60 R15 88T winter by Adam Kowalski ᠌

A really necessary purchase, I'm glad I found this product.

I decided to write this review, because I myself had a lot of questions when choosing rubber. People write completely different things about the same rubber . This Goodyear has been eyeing this for quite a long time. For me, the main thing was confidence while driving, versatility, that is, decent behavior on any surface. Given the unanimous good patency of this instance, I was afraid for the behavior on dry pavement and good speeds, as it turned out in vain. I am definitely satisfied with the rubber (see advantages), although not without flaws. So, a Volvo s60 car, front-wheel drive, 170 hp. Tires 225/45 R17. After reviewing the reviews, I came to the conclusion that Polish rubber is one thing, German rubber is another. When buying, I advise you to pay attention. Negative reviews, as I understand it, are mainly about Polish rubber. In addition, not all rubber sellers are conscientious; there may initially be defective copies. In tire shops, the guys are funny, at a temperature of +20 they will pump your wheels up to 2.2 atm, they left at -20, respectively, in cylinders it’s no longer 2.2, but at best 1.8 atm. If the car is heavy, it will naturally behave abnormally in corners. In general, if the tires are German, without marriage, and everything is done wisely, you will be satisfied with this instance. In addition: I drove 2 full winters on rubber, about 20 thousand km. Everything is fine, wear is normal, the spikes are visually all in place. Decided to ate my review a bit. - you still feel the edge, noticeable in comparison with the summer Michelin Primacy 3; - got into very decent pits, at good speed, everything is fine with rubber; - maybe due to the fact that the spike is directional, there are no questions about braking on asphalt, but with a sharp acceleration from a standstill, slippage is observed; - traveled on all possible surfaces, keeps the road level, there is one exception - deep snow porridge. Although this is partly due to the width of the profile. In general, the impression of the rubber has not changed, I am very pleased with the choice.

Pros
  • The main thing - gives confidence behind the wheel. Germany, soft rubber, does not tan in the cold, holds the road well in all weather conditions. I was afraid for the behavior at a speed of 140 km / h - it's going well. Excellent braking. Quiet! I have good noise isolation, but the tires are really quite quiet, I only hear a slight rustle of spikes during hard braking / acceleration.
Cons
  • - The track is still felt, of course, you shouldn’t blame everything on the rubber, a lot depends on the car, but it is, and this is a minus. - The second drawback is the reverse side of the plus. The rubber is very soft, and to be honest, I'm afraid to get a hernia (especially given the small thickness of the profile (45)). This is of course only an assumption, but it bothers me a little, so minus. - well, the most insignificant for me - with a slightly sharper pressure on the gas, it still slips a little (asphalt). It is clear that the spikes, monoprivod, but sometimes it gets in the way.
