The Micro 4/3 mirrorless system is amazing because it packs so many features into such a tiny size. Olympus has done a fantastic job miniaturizing their camera bodies, lenses and even flashes (the FL-600R is great). So why is the wired remote so HUGE?! It's a button and a switch and nothing else. and it's HUGE! Way more than any Canon cable edition I've bought for my SLRs and dSLRs over the years. The case is 11 cm long and 16 mm thick. Of course, if Olympus can pack a 14-150mm with 10.7x zoom into a 4.25-inch body, they can find a way to shrink this monster. Of all the Micro 4/3 hardware I've bought recently (and I've bought a lot), this was the only disappointment in the whole bunch. The simplest element of the kit turned out to be the largest due to its function. But it's here, so it goes in my backpack. But I'll definitely be replacing it with something smaller (or wireless) when it wears out. Maybe earlier.
