The adhesive part didn't stick at all. That was great news as I was carrying my mattress and had to put it on the snow. It's great to see snow, mud and dirt getting into your mattress because a product you overpaid for based on reviews ends up being worse than the $5.99 mattress topper I get from Uhaul paid for a double mattress. If you want to buy this, trust me, it's not worth the price. You don't need the supposed additional protection. If you decide to purchase, make sure you have enough tape. Unfortunately I left mine in the car parked in Uhaul. It's amazing when the glue doesn't even feel tacky enough to stick to a piece of paper. And yes, that white bar was previously removed.
