If you don't have a used mattress that you don't need, you have to put it in a bag before transporting or storing it. I bought a custom mattress for an RV a few hours from my house—too far to hang over the side of my truck. I packed up the mattress and drove it home on an open trailer. This mattress topper is very thick and feels very durable. We bought this to keep my daughter's full size feather block clean and dust free. The fit is good and it's actually a bit bigger than I thought it would be. I thought it would fit snugly in the mattress but there is plenty of extra room around the sides and edges.
