The product has a very strange water resistance. I bought these cushions to protect and hold my current patio furniture cushions, especially from the rain. If they were water resistant, as they should be, it would be a good idea not to cover the patio furniture all the time when not in use, lest the patio cushions become a victim of water out of the water. Rain, dew or moisture, neither mold nor fungi from the water. Since waterproof performance was the driving factor in my purchase of these cushions, before I even attempted to put these patio cushion covers on/over my real patio cushions, I first tested the item's waterproof rating. I held an edge of one side of the lid with both hands and simply held the lid under the faucet in the sink and to my excitement the water literally just drained off the lid. To be honest it was really impressive. However, I soon realized that while water doesn't seep through the case (which is why water slides off the case), the case does get wet through the fabric and whatever is under the case or whatever the lid is covering disappears from getting wet . It won't get wet, but the surface of the garden furniture pads will definitely not stay dry. Patio cushions still get pretty wet. So if you sit on patio cushions after the covers that cover them get wet, your pants seat with patio cushions will get uncomfortably wet. . And for me, at least, having those patio furniture cushion covers defies my purpose.
