Review on πŸ”Œ Jeirdus 100M LC-LC Outdoor Armored Duplex SM Fiber Optic Cable - High-Quality Singlemode 9/125 Patch Cord for Optimal Data Transfer by Kevin Elliott

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good cable in category Audio Cable

I bought a 100m singlemode LC-LC patch cord to run between my house and barn. It required a pipeline 240 feet underground - it hurt, but now it's done. I thought I used enough "snot" in the whistle when I did the joints and the fact that it was a straight path with no elbows made me think I could get the whistle out. a full 240 feet at a time. It shouldn't have happened as after about 100 feet it became difficult to pull. I'm guessing it was in the 20lb range. Not knowing how stiff the thin cable was, I stopped. Luckily I placed the pull boxes 80 feet apart so I could pull the 80 foot sections, which was tedious but easier. The outer jacket of this cable is a rubbery material that appears to have quite a bit of friction against the tube. So a word to the wise: overuse smudges the pipe and leaves hotspots. Another step we took was to unwind the fiber and rewind it on the spool so it doesn't get tangled when you pull it. The spool rotated freely so it didn't make it difficult to pull. For pulling, we used Revain's: FiberCablesDirect - SimpleGrip Fiber Pulling Eye Hook, about $12.00, which worked really well. I advise you to keep the small plastic caps for the fiber ends in case you need to secure the end for a move or other reason. Conclusion: When I did everything, he was connected.

It doesn't work. It also doesn't have the "armored" part, just outer pvc. False advertising
